The Historical Story of Panlong Cave

In the first year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1796), villagers in Longwan Village built several Buddha statues to be enshrined in the cave. Since then, Panlong Cave has become a religious place for nearby villagers. During the Cultural Revolution, caves were destroyed, and villagers in Longwan spontaneously repaired them at 1984. At present, the cave is a giant Buddha cave with "Three Buddhas Upright" and "Ten Dharmas" (Growth Day, Guangmuri Day, Mohammad Luo Tian Day, Wei Tuo Day, Indra Day, Brahma Day, Auspicious Day, Morita Day, Holding National Day and Vishamun Day). The west cave is a hundred uterus with a "Guanyin" inside. Dongdong is the Fangshen Cave in the village, which contains thirteen shrines. There is a bell tower in the grottoes next to the west cave, but the drum tower has not been built. There is a hole 60 meters above the cave, which is now empty. There is a Buddha's right hand on the right cliff opposite the cave, which is the "fearless seal".

In Panlong Cave, the temperature difference between inside and outside is large. In late spring and early autumn, fog floated out of the cave in the morning and evening. It is said to be the Dragon Xianju. "Where there are dragons, there must be clouds, and clouds are the breath of Longkou", hence the name Panlong Cave. It is said that this cave also has the function of weather forecast. Whenever the weather changes suddenly 3-5 days ago, the sand in the cave falls, and all kinds of gifts from nature add to the mystery of "Panlong Cave".

In the past 20 years, Panlong Cave has studied and publicized Buddhism with the aim of "carrying forward the fine tradition of Buddhism, advocating human Buddhism, enlightening wisdom and purifying people's hearts". May the incense in Panlong Cave flourish!
