Xi'an or Wuhan, which city has better universities?

Which city has better universities, Xi'an or Wuhan? This is subjective, so let me tell you my opinion.

Xi'an and Wuhan both have numerous universities, including 985 and 211 institutions, as well as well-known domestic military academies. Of course, if I want to say which city is more awesome, I think it is Wuhan. When talking about Wuhan, we will think of the Wuchang Uprising, Wuhan University, and Yellow Crane Tower. When talking about Xi'an, we will think of the ancient capital of the 16th dynasty, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Terracotta Warriors.

There is no doubt that their representative universities are Wuhan University and Xi'an Jiaotong University. In most university rankings, Wuhan University is much higher than Xi'an Jiaotong University. At the same time, Wuhan University is a comprehensive institution, while Xi'an Jiaotong University is a science and engineering institution featuring transportation. Wuhan University is stronger from a multidisciplinary perspective.

In the ranking of Chinese universities by the Alumni Association, Wuhan University ranks fourth and Xi'an Jiaotong University ranks seventeenth.

In the QS World University Rankings, Wuhan University ranked 273 in 2015 and 275 in 2016; Xi'an Jiaotong University ranked 331 in 2015 and 318 in 2016.

In addition, in terms of presence, Wuhan University is obviously much higher than Xi'an Jiaotong University. In terms of campus scenery, Wuhan University was rated as one of the top ten most beautiful campuses in China because of its cherry blossoms; in terms of beauties, Wuhan University’s campus beauty stole the show.

Of course, the academic atmosphere of a city cannot be summarized by one university. Let’s look at this data: Wuhan, as an important education center in China, had 96 universities in 2015, including those jointly run by Qixiao. It ranks second in the country; the number of colleges and universities directly under the Ministry of Education is second only to Beijing and Shanghai, ranking third in the country; there are more than 1.07 million college students and graduate students, ranking first in the country.

Therefore, I personally feel that the universities in Wuhan are better.
