What car problems should I pay attention to when driving in winter?

In a blink of an eye, it has entered the late autumn, and the leaves are falling one by one. It's getting colder and colder, and winter is coming soon. The temperature is relatively low in winter, and it is easy to snow when it is cold. Sometimes it is foggy in the morning, and the road conditions become much more complicated. So what should I pay attention to when driving out in winter? Let's talk about the old mechanic.

1. Replace glass water and antifreeze. In summer, we all use ordinary glass water. Some people will use tap water or pure water instead to save money, but we can't do this in winter. In winter, the temperature is relatively low. If the glass water freezes, it won't spray at the critical moment. If it is serious, the kettle will freeze and crack, and if it is sprayed all the time, it may damage the wiper motor. As for antifreeze, it doesn't last. Generally, it can be replaced once every 3 years and 60,000 kilometers.

2. Adjust the tire pressure appropriately. In summer, due to the high temperature, we usually lower the tire pressure a little. In winter, the tire pressure may be lower due to thermal expansion and cold contraction. If the tire pressure is too low, it will not only increase fuel consumption, but also accelerate tire wear. As for the tire pressure, we just need to look at the tips on the fuel tank cover or the side of the car door.

3. Replace snow tires and prepare snow chains. It is normal to snow in winter, especially in some areas in the north. Almost all winter is spent in the snow. Then it is almost impossible to walk without snow tires at this time. As for other areas where it doesn't often snow, it's best to prepare a set of snow chains. Otherwise, once it snows, it is almost impossible for you to go out, and the probability of traffic accidents without snow chains will multiply.

4. Pay attention to driving in foggy weather. In winter, some hills and low-lying areas are prone to fog in the morning, so many novice drivers will be at a loss when driving in foggy days. You must turn on the front and rear fog lights before driving in foggy weather, but some low-profile joint venture cars don't have fog lights. At this time, we need to turn on the position light. If the fog is heavy, we suggest turning on the emergency lights. When driving, control the speed according to the visibility, and don't overtake or drive at will, especially on the opposite road.

5. Warm up the car before you leave. Many people think that the engine of the car used to be a carburetor engine, which was not easy to catch fire in winter. After the fire, the idle speed is relatively low, so the car needs to be warmed up before leaving. But now the cars are all EFI engines, and there is no need to warm the cars at all. In fact, this idea is wrong. In winter, the temperature is low and the oil viscosity is relatively high. If your car is left overnight, let the engine run at high speed immediately after starting, which is almost equivalent to dry grinding. So don't worry after you start, wait about 30 seconds before you go. Of course, the preheating time should not be too long, and it is better to control it within 1 minute.

The above are the five precautions that the old driver said when driving in winter. The old driver's conscience is summed up, and the novice driver should pay attention! If you find it helpful after reading it, please like it, forward it and collect it! If you are an old company and don't need these, then forward them to more novice drivers! I am an old driver who repairs cars. I am serious about sharing car knowledge. Thank you!
