Winter airflow in China

In China, the northwest wind usually blows more in winter, but the southeast wind usually blows more in summer. The cause of this meteorological phenomenon is determined by the airflow.

When the weather station forecasts the wind direction, when the wind direction in a certain direction is uncertain, it should be "northerly", such as northerly wind. When the wind is low, the "uncertain wind direction" is used to explain that China faces the ocean in the southeast and the mainland in the northwest. Water has a large heat capacity. In summer, the water temperature rises slowly, the temperature is low, the mainland heats up quickly, and the temperature is high. The surface hot air rises faster than the ocean, and the low-level air flows from the ocean to the mainland to supplement the rising air of the mainland, forming a southeast wind. Winter is just the opposite.

The land heats up quickly in summer, and now there is a cycle between land and sea. China is located in Eurasia. East of the Pacific Ocean, plus Coriolis force, in fact, the summer wind in East Asia is southeast wind. In winter, the land cools rapidly, forming a cycle between the land and the sea, which leads to the land wind blowing on the ground. Similarly, in fact, the northwest wind blows in East Asia in winter.

In winter, northwest wind comes from cold air, which is cold and dry. The wind in summer is southeast wind, and the warm air comes from the ocean. The warm and humid Eurasia has obvious influence on the most extensive continental monsoon climate in the world. The ocean is slowly warming up and cooling down, so in winter, the atmospheric pressure on the mainland and the low pressure on the sea produce a continent that blows the sea. The cold air divided by the Himalayas, the northwest wind along the east coast of the mainland (China) and the winter wind in South Asia will be offset eastward under the action of Coriolis force.

Usually in China, the southeast wind blows in summer and the northwest wind blows in winter. The main reason is the temperature difference between Eurasia and the Pacific Ocean.
