Liaoyang City is located in the middle of Liaoning Province, with a total area of 4,736 square kilometers and a built-up area of 139.7 square kilometers.

Liaoyang is a city with obvious location advantages and unique resource endowment. Liaoyang is located in the northern hinterland of Liaodong Peninsula, with its southwest boundary 70km away from Bohai Sea and southeast boundary 0/00 km away from Yellow Sea/KLOC. The macro-climate is greatly influenced by the ocean, with mild and humid climate throughout the year and distinct seasons.

In spring, the temperature rises quickly, it is warm and rainy, with southerly wind, large evaporation and long sunshine time, which is prone to spring drought. Summer is hot and rainy, with southeast wind prevailing, high humidity, concentrated precipitation, occasional northern airflow and strong convective weather. Autumn is slow, sunny, cool and humid, with the characteristics of "one autumn rain, one cold, three white dew and one frost". Winter has a long cold period, less precipitation, cold and dry, and sometimes cold wave, north wind and heavy snow are encountered.
