What secondary disasters will heavy rainfall cause?

Heavy rainfall will cause geological disasters such as mountain torrents, collapses and landslides.

First, flash floods broke out.

Sudden mountain torrents, high water flow concentration and velocity, strong scouring destructive power, sediment and even stones entrained in the water flow, often cause local floods.

Second, collapse.

Collapse will destroy buildings, sometimes even entire residential areas, and bury roads and railways. The loss caused by collapse is not only the direct loss caused by the destruction of buildings, but also the interruption of traffic and the huge loss of transportation.

Third, landslides.

The influence of rainfall on landslide is mainly manifested in the infiltration of a large amount of rain, which leads to the saturation of the earth-rock layer on the slope, and even the water accumulation in the aquiclude below the slope, thus increasing the weight of the landslide, reducing the shear strength of the earth-rock layer and leading to landslide. Many landslides have the characteristics of "heavy rain sliding, light rain sliding and no rain sliding".
