The weather in Songpan grassland

Because the Songpan prairie is about 4000 meters above sea level, and it is already autumn, comrades in Songpan County told us that the temperature there is relatively cold, so we should put on sweaters and not catch cold. The grassland is more than 200 kilometers away from Songpan county, and we set off at 7: 30 in the morning. The weather is not very good. It rained lightly early in the morning, which made people feel a little chilly. I took a sweater and put it in my bag for later use, just like the comrades in the county said. It took the bus three and a half hours to reach the grassland. We got off at the grassland where the Red Army's Long March passed. Here stands the Long March Monument for passers-by to take pictures as a souvenir. When I got off the bus, a chill came over my face and I got goose bumps all over. It's raining lightly. The howling north wind blows straight into your neck and makes you tremble. I hurried back to the car, put on my sweater and felt much warmer. Some of my colleagues stayed in the car without adding clothes and were afraid to come out again.

Songpan grassland is the base for Songpan to develop animal husbandry. Because the altitude here is nearly 1000m higher than the county seat, the temperature is also lower than the county seat. Although there is no summer in Songpan, the autumn in the grassland will be very short. When the field is still in early autumn, it is already late autumn. According to the local people, the temperature is very low in the morning and evening, only two or three degrees.1Winter is coming in the middle of October, and the temperature is below zero.

In winter, the temperature here is even lower, about-15 degrees, and it is often closed by heavy snow, and the roads are frozen, making it inconvenient for people to get in and out. Grazing herdsmen will move from tents to centralized herdsmen's residential areas built by the government to keep warm for the winter. It's very cold here in winter, unlike the heating in the north. Ordinary herdsmen can only stay at home and make a fire with a stove.
