Therefore, they love something more precious than life; What they hate is worse than death. Born with it, born without it; If you are right, you can make trouble by doing nothing. A bowl of rice, a bowl of soup, you can live if you get it, but you will starve if you don't get it. But with disdain to drink and eat, hungry pedestrians are unwilling to accept it; Kick others' food with their feet, and beggars will not accept it.
The senior official accepted it without distinguishing whether it was appropriate or not. Call it, and the people in the street will be blessed; Begging for help is too much.
Is it for the splendor of the house, the service of my wives and the poor people who know how to appreciate me? For the beauty of the palace, the matter of wives and concubines, the poor have me and you? If an immoral person with low morality is in a dominant position, he will spread his sins to the masses. Shame and evil heart are the end of justice. Resignation is the end of the ceremony.
The heart of right and wrong is also the end of wisdom. Man has four ends, but he still has four bodies.
Therefore, a gentleman is nothing more than being kind to people. Opportunities vouchsafed by Heaven are outmatched by terrestrial advantages, which in turn are outmatched by the harmony among people.
A gentleman is not frugal and close to the world. A gentleman doesn't complain about heaven or care about people.
At that time, this time is also true. If you want to rule the world, who can you give me? Why am I not ready? Life, things with courtesy; Death, ritual burial and ritual sacrifice can be described as filial piety.
There are good people in the world, but there must be bad people in the world. The virtue of a gentleman is wind, and the virtue of a villain is grass.
Civil affairs cannot be delayed. Therefore: either toil or work; Hard-working people govern others, hard-working people govern others; The rule of man eats people, and the rule of man eats people is universal.
Father and son are close, monarch and minister are righteous, husband and wife are different, young and old have a chat, and friends have a letter. Live in the world, stand in the right position in the world and be the best in the world; Let the people do it if they succeed, and go their own way if they fail.
Wealth can't be lewd, poverty can't be moved, and power can't be bent. This is called a gentleman. It is impossible to eat nothing.
The son of heaven is ruthless and does not protect the four seas; The princes are heartless and do not protect the country; Doctor Qing is ruthless and does not protect the ancestral temple; Shu Ren is heartless. He didn't protect his four bodies. Give up on yourself, don't talk; Give up on yourself, and do nothing.
The Tao is in you, seeking for all the distant places, but things are easy and difficult. Those who love others will always love others; People who respect others will always respect others.
There is no other way to learn, just ask him to rest assured. Born in sorrow and died in happiness.
People should not be shameless. If you are poor, you will be immune, and if you are rich, you will help the world.
A gentleman has three pleasures: parents are perfect, brothers are absent, and one is happy; Live up to the sky, you don't care, you are happy. It is three pleasures to be educated by talents in the world.
There was no just war in the Spring and Autumn Period. It is better to believe in books than not to have them.
The people are the most important, the country is the second, and the monarch is the light. Sages make people shine with their brilliance, and today they make people shine with their fatuity.
Life is what I want, and righteousness is what I want; You can't have both, and you have to sacrifice your life for righteousness. If what people want is not more important than life, what means are there that all methods that can save lives do not have? If people hate nothing more than death, what can be done to avoid disaster? You can survive by some means, but some people refuse to use it; Some methods can avoid disaster, but some people refuse to adopt them.
Therefore, they love something more precious than life (that is "righteousness"); What they hate is something more serious than death (that is "injustice"). Not only sages have this idea, but everyone has it. It's just that sages can't be abandoned.
A bowl of rice, a bowl of soup, can live if you eat it, or starve to death if you don't eat it. But the hungry people passing by refused to accept it when they scolded others for eating it; Kicking others to eat, beggars are unwilling to accept it.
