Xuzhou, referred to as Pengcheng for short, is a prefecture-level city and sub-central city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, a national historical and cultural city, a national comprehensive transportation hub and a central city of Huaihai Economic Zone. As of 202 1, Xuzhou has five municipal districts, three counties and two county-level cities. It has a total area of 1 1765 square kilometers and a permanent population of 9,028,500.

Xuzhou is located in the southeast of North China Plain and the northwest of Jiangsu Province.
