Why do lactating sows die suddenly in hot season?

In the hot season, the sudden death of nursing sows is closely related to the ventilation performance and illumination of the delivery room, and other reasons are not excluded: a) Due to the special thermal insulation requirements of newborn piglets, the delivery room cannot be as open and ventilated as the pregnancy room, so it is necessary to avoid the thief wind attacking the piglets, thus causing ventilation obstacles for nursing sows. At the same time, the room temperature in the delivery room is high, generally above 35℃, which causes thermal stress to sows. B) Some delivery rooms have many glass windows on both walls, which are too light-transmitting. When the hot sun irradiates the delivery room for a long time, especially the sow directly, it is more likely to cause heatstroke and heatstroke. C) Improper treatment of hot-wheezing sows, mistaken for cold and fever, and high-dose penicillin and aminopyrine injection usually strengthen the stimulation to sows, leading to death from heart failure. D) When the weather is hot, sows are easily agitated and often get up and play in the drinking pool, making the ground wet. When feces and urine are mixed, sows are easy to slip, causing accidental intestinal volvulus → flatulence → increase of abdominal pressure, and eventually die of shortness of breath. E) The appetite of sows weakened for a period of time for some reason, and then began to improve after various treatments, and the appetite was compensated. Overeating in a short time may lead to acute gastric ulcer or even gastric perforation, leading to sudden death of sows.
