7. A once-in-a-century Olympic volunteer service experience

In August 2008, the 29th Olympic Games was held in Beijing. The whole country was excited. As an activist who is enthusiastic about public welfare activities, Li Gaofeng led the Henan volunteer team to actively participate in volunteer Olympic activities.

Every morning, Li Gaofeng gets up at 4 o'clock in the morning and starts doing his cleaning work. At around 6 o'clock in the morning, he has to go to the Hongmiao intersection in Chaoyang District to arrange the work of the traffic guard. Although the time is relatively regular, unexpected situations always arise, so Li Gaofeng often does not have time to eat breakfast, lunch or even dinner, so eating sesame seed cakes, steamed buns and pickles have become his fast food. The weather in Beijing in August was hot with heavy rainfall. In addition to taking care of the volunteers to prevent heat stroke, he also had to carry out voluntary water delivery work. During his duty, he encountered heavy rain many times. Li Gaofeng always arranged rain gear for the volunteers in time. Some volunteers may be late because of the long distance, so Li Gaofeng has become the first choice to replace the class. He often says: Other people's classes have been arranged, and it may be too late for others to replace them. It was routine for Li Gaofeng to work more than 16 hours a day. During this period, his personal physical condition was not good. Back pain, leg pain, and foot pain would always cause him trouble from time to time. However, considering the heavy workload during the Olympics, volunteers It was also a very hard situation and I had to continue working even though I was sick. This persistence lasted for 100 days. In order to undertake the volunteer service work for the Olympics, Li Gaofeng has undergone many trainings, including Olympic situation handling training, etiquette training, disability service training, emergency rescue training, political sensitivity training, etc. Once Li Gaofeng has free time at his job, he will share the training knowledge with everyone, which has a better popularization effect.
