Overtime work has inevitably become the norm. It has become commonplace to go to work at 8 a.m. and finish work at 8:00 and 9 p.m. The average overtime time per week is more than ten hours. Overtime work in the operating room is not about wandering around without worrying, but about being around the operating table and worrying about it. The body is tired and the mind is tired.

We never see the sun all day long, we never know what the weather is like outside, and we never know what is happening in the outside world. We have almost nothing to do with various festivals and all cultural and entertainment activities. Surgery related.

You have seen New York and Los Angeles at four in the morning, but have you ever seen the operating room from two to three in the morning to dawn?

We shed tears and sweat here with our young bodies. I particularly admire the teachers who are over 30 years old in Corey. They are the backbone of Corey. After working overtime every day, they also have to take care of the family and tutor the children's homework and family chores, and they can also be beautiful and moving.

Later I learned that their hearts had collapsed more than once, and they owed themselves and their children and families. Who is not walking forward with difficulty while holding tears in his eyes?

Later, I learned that many people have had physical alarms. Overexertion can lead to tinnitus, sudden deafness, irregular heartbeat, lumbar muscle strain, sudden blindness, and thyroid dysfunction...

The original intention of working in this industry may be because of love or stability, but later on, the work brings us nothing but exhaustion day after day, like mechanical repetition like workers on the assembly line. Do we still have any meaning? At the end of the work, my body couldn't keep up with the instructions of my brain. I held the liquid in my left hand and the garbage in my right hand. I threw away the liquid and held the garbage in my hand to prepare for use.

Sometimes we have entered a strange state where we dare not complain or complain about being tired. Once we complain about being tired, someone will tell you that there are people who are more tired than you. You are an angel and you are a young person. What's a little tired? Yes, we are still young.

But I have been teased more than once. I have no money, no time, no freedom, and no boyfriend. The same goes for good friends around you. Is it because we are not good enough? I thought I was good enough and at least I was working hard to get better. But I am not the only one who works as a nurse, and no one is not working hard.

I don’t understand why there are endless operations, I don’t understand why we work so hard and our income is not proportional, I don’t understand why all the girls in the operating room are stronger than the men...

But have you ever regretted the career you chose?

No.

Maybe as some people say, this is a kind of darkness before dawn, maybe it is.

There is always enough courage and reason to live life.
