Geographical environment:

Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is located in the southeast edge of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, in the hinterland of Hengduan Mountains, high in the north and low in the south, and in the hinterland of the "Three Parallel Rivers" national scenic spot in the northwest of Yunnan Province. The total area is 23,900 square kilometers, and the cultivated land is 3,765,438+0,000 hectares. The geography of the territory is three mountains and two rivers. These three mountains are Nvshan, Yunling Snow Mountain and Gongga Snow Mountain, and Lancang River and Jinsha River run through the whole territory from north to south. This huge height difference in a small area makes a vertical agricultural climate and a three-dimensional ecological environment appear in the territory. Therefore, Diqing is called "animal kingdom" and "nonferrous metal kingdom", especially rich in hydropower resources, mineral resources, tourism resources, biological resources and land resources. It belongs to temperate and cold temperate monsoon climate (the valley area belongs to north subtropical monsoon climate), with an annual average temperature of 5.4℃, an annual average rainfall of 268-945 mm and a frost-free period of 129- 197 days.

Shangri-La County, where the state capital is located, is 706 kilometers away from Kunming. Quanzhou has jurisdiction over three counties, namely Shangri-La County, Deqin County and Weixi Yi Autonomous County.

Population:

At the end of 2005, the total population of Quanzhou was 368,700, and besides the Han nationality, there were 25 ethnic minorities such as Tibetan, Tibetan, Naxi, Bai, Yi, Hui, Pumi and Miao. The population of ethnic minorities is 32 1.800, accounting for 87.28% of the total population.

Natural resources:

There are more than 2,000 kinds of higher plants, and 23 kinds of plant resources, such as Taiwania flousiana, Davidia involucrata, Cephalotaxus fortunei, Taxus chinensis, Shuiqingshu, Corylus heterophylla, Artemisia rupestris, Gastrodia elata, Saussurea involucrata, Taxus chinensis and Cephalotaxus fortunei, are protected by the state. There are more than 20 kinds of precious Chinese herbal medicines, such as Cordyceps sinensis, Gastrodia elata, Angelica sinensis, Radix Aucklandiae, Gentiana macrophylla, Poria, Fritillaria, velvet antler, bear bile, musk and so on. Tricholoma matsutake, Morchella and other wild edible fungi 136 species are well-known at home and abroad and exported to Japan, Hong Kong and other places. The national first-class protected animals are Yunnan golden monkey, wild donkey and black-necked crane, and the second and third categories are snow leopard, lynx, macaque and red panda.

Diqing Prefecture is rich in tourism resources. The main scenic spots are the first peak in Yunnan-the Kage Peak of Meili Snow Mountain, the world-famous Grand Canyon-Tiger Leaping Gorge, Dongba Huaquan-Baishuitai Wonder, the habitat of Yunnan golden monkey-Weixi Sama Pavilion, the pearl of the plateau-Bitahai, the low-latitude glacier in China-Mingyongcha, and the Tibetan bunker known as the "Tibet Art Museum".

Matters needing attention in traveling to Shangri-La:

1, except in May-July and 9- 10, the rainy season in Diqing is not good, which is not conducive to travel. The temperature is too low in winter. If it rains, you have to wait to go home. The mountain road after snow is not easy to walk, so it takes patience and time to wait for it to melt.

2. Don't rush to Diqing during the Spring Festival, because the outdoor temperature will be -3-8℃ in those days, and it will be 1-9℃ if there is no heating equipment indoors. At night, the temperature is lower, outdoor -7℃, indoor-1℃. In addition to the low temperature, there are few people and cars on the street, and the icy road surface will make drivers daunting.

3. It is recommended to bring coats, down jackets, gloves and non-slip boots to Diqing. Coupled with the dry climate and strong ultraviolet rays, women should prepare sunscreen, sun hats and sunglasses, especially after 10.

June-September is the rainy season in Diqing Plateau every year. The weather on the plateau is changeable. In rainy days, you can bring more plastic bags (or shower caps) to cover the camera, which is rainproof and dustproof, and can also protect the equipment. When you live in a tent on the grassland in summer, you must burn a bonfire.

5. Diqing is a high altitude area (3,300m), which is not suitable for strenuous exercise, drinking, eating more fruits and vegetables to prevent mountain sickness.
