Feeling after visiting the Opium War Memorial Hall

When it comes to the modern history of China, people will inevitably discuss the Opium War. The Opium War made China a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society. First of all, it broke the closed-door situation of Qing Dynasty, and made China gradually move from closed-door to open and modernization. As an important battlefield of the Opium War, the battle of Dinghai is self-evident. The Battle of Dinghai was the first large-scale war in which the British invaders occupied the territory of China by force, and it was also the first failure of the feudal rulers of the Qing Dynasty in modern Chinese history. I also took this opportunity to set foot on the road to Zhoushan Zhushan Park (200 1 renamed Zhoushan Opium War Memorial Hall to expand my popularity), climbed to the top of the mountain and paid tribute to Zhoushan Opium War Memorial Hall.

My father and I made an appointment early and came to Zhushan Park when we were in Tomb-Sweeping Day. This is a quiet park. On weekdays, there will always be a group of old people meeting in the park, or chatting or learning, playing the erhu and singing a little song, which is very pleasant. In the early morning, groups of people will go climbing for exercise. On the top of this mountain stands the portrait of three handsome men in Dinghai, and the destination-Dinghai Opium War Memorial Hall.

Zhushan Park, located on Xiaofengling Tunnel in Dinghai City, covers an area of 12 hectares and was completed in June, 1997. The park was set up to commemorate the defending battle of the Opium War, and it is a patriotic education base in Zhejiang Province. In the Second Opium War, 4,800 soldiers of the Qing army fought bravely against the British invasion of Dinghai, and most of them died heroically, killing more than 4 10 British soldiers. Zhushan was one of the main battlefields of that year.

Walking to the gate, Zhoushan Opium War Ruins Park suddenly came into view. I couldn't help but get excited at the thought of climbing the mountain to worship my ancestors. Before reaching the top of the mountain, the word "loyalty" first appeared in front of my eyes. This is the forest of steles, with hundreds of inscriptions. Tombstones are arranged there in turn. I knew it was a martyr's tomb before, but I didn't study it in detail. At my father's suggestion, I learned that there were inscriptions by more than 30 generals, including Zhang zhen and Chi Haotian. So many general's inscriptions are enough to show the hero's respect for the hero, and I can't help but respect him.

Along the tree-lined path, it's a little hard to walk on the ladder paved with big stones. It's a little steep after all. Maybe we went too late, only to see a wave of people rushing down, and few people followed us up. Climbers are not only people who exercise, but also some people who come to visit with tour groups. It seems that the opium war memorial hall is very attractive. After all, this is a war of great significance.

Maybe I haven't exercised for a long time, and I started to gasp halfway up. I had such an idea in my mind that I wouldn't go back, but I immediately dismissed it. Today I want to meet heroes and martyrs. Those thousands of soldiers, in order to defend their homeland, would rather sacrifice their lives under various pressures. Without them, there may be no victory in the defense of Dinghai, and there may be no Dinghai that makes me proud.

Halfway up the mountain, I saw three pillars standing on the top of the mountain from a distance. Those three pillars stand upright there, probably symbolizing the three handsome men in Dinghai in those days. So just majestic, overlooking dinghai city.

I tried my best and finally climbed to the top of the mountain. Maybe it's because I know it's coming and the weather is gloomy, or maybe God wants to take advantage of Tomb-Sweeping Day to remember his ancestors.

Finally saw the long-awaited Zhoushan Opium War Memorial Hall. The opium war memorial hall covers an area of more than 500 square meters. The exhibition hall is divided into three parts: national humiliation, resistance and return. More than 140 historical photos, more than 20 artistic works showing the scenes of that year, and dozens of physical objects such as models, weapons, flags and costumes were displayed. In the center of the exhibition hall is a large sand table for Dinghai No.2 defense, and the two wings are realistic warship models, displaying ancient iron cannons, which fully shows the historical picture of Zhoushan military and civilians' heroic resistance to Britain. With exquisite design and intuitive image, the exhibition hall is the first memorial hall in Zhejiang Province with the theme of Opium War. My father and I carefully observed all kinds of antiques, and we couldn't help feeling the fierceness of the war and the bravery of Zhoushan soldiers and civilians.

In recent years, with the deepening of the research on dinghai defense, many new theories have emerged. According to the historical data collected in Zhoushan, the second battle of defending Dinghai was the most intense battle in the whole Opium War. Wang Zhecheng described in Zhushanmen that the second dinghai campaign lasted six days and six nights from September 26th 184 1 year to June 26th1year. In the first five days, the British army failed in every attack. Although the Qing army lags far behind the British in weapons and military technology, it can still unite as one and share the same enemy. "A bloody battle of six days and nights to defend Dinghai is a battle with the largest number of participants, the largest scale, the longest exchange of fire and the heaviest casualties. On the same day, three company commanders, Ge, Wang Xipeng and Zheng, died, and all their 5,800 defenders surrendered. The soldiers died and their loyal souls were revealed. Up to now, on Zhushanmen, the graves of unknown soldiers killed in battle can still be seen everywhere. " According to the old saying, during the Opium War, there were more than 10 battles and battles. According to historical data, the battle of Zhenjiang was one of the fiercest battles, with the heaviest casualties on both sides. "... caused a lot of casualties to the British army, unprecedented in the Opium War ... * * * 37 people were killed, 128 people were injured and 3 people were missing". (Yao Weiyuan, People's Publishing House 1984 Edition "Historical Textual Research on the Opium War")

There are all kinds of new sayings that Dinghai resisted Britain earlier than Sanyuanli, and the British invasion of Zhoushan had been planned for a long time. The academic forum "Opium War and Dinghai" held in Zhoushan in 2006 also attracted many experts.

But no matter what the result is, there is no doubt about the heroism of Zhoushan people and the significance of defending Dinghai in the Opium War.

After visiting the museum, we walked along the path to the other side, where there were three reliefs of generals: Ge, Wang Xipeng and Zheng, who were determined to live and die. People smiled and took pictures in front of the three company commanders. Perhaps this comfortable life is the best way to repay them.

Postscript: After today's visit, I stared and pondered for a long time in front of the memorial sculptures of the three commanders. My heart silently chanting, the Chinese nation finally stood up. Now Zhoushan has an important East China Sea Fleet guarding the east gate of our country. Zhoushan will never be occupied again and will never be allowed to be occupied. Your blood will not flow in vain. After stopping for a while, my father and I walked down the hill with heavy steps. ...
