Zhaoqing, called Duanzhou in ancient times, is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Guangdong Province. It is an important node city of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and Pearl River-Xijiang Economic Belt, and an important part of Guangfozhao Economic Circle and Guangzhou Metropolitan Area. In 2023, it was rated as a third-tier city. The city governs 3 districts and 4 counties 1 county-level city, with a total area of about 14897.45 square kilometers. By the end of 2022, the resident population of Zhaoqing City was 412,840.
