Sochi has a Mediterranean climate and a subtropical climate. Why does it snow in winter?

It's not surprising. The subtropical climate is characterized by an annual average temperature above zero, but there are also days or short-term temperatures below zero. For example, most of southern China has a subtropical monsoon climate, but there will be snowfall in Hunan Province, Jiangxi Province and even the northwest of Fujian Province.
