Traditional Culture Encyclopedia - Weather forecast - Meiyu and spring drought are not weather.

Meiyu and spring drought are not weather.

Both belong to the category of climate.

Everything between the earth's surface and the atmosphere in space belongs to the category of meteorology, which is divided into weather and climate. What we generally encounter is a weather phenomenon, and climate generally refers to the average weather conditions for many years (usually 30 years). As far as these two concepts are concerned, they are the summary of the average weather characteristics (that is, climate characteristics) for many years, but as far as a plum rain or spring drought is concerned, they should belong to the category of weather.

Meiyu: Every summer (from mid-June to early July) is called typical Meiyu. May is called early spring plum. Continuous rainy weather often occurs in the Jianghuai Valley between 28 and 34 N east of Yichang, Hubei Province, with heavy rainfall. Because this period is the mature season of plums in Jiangnan, it is called plum rain, also called mildew rain.

Spring drought: No matter where in the country, as long as there is little precipitation in spring, it can be called spring drought.
