Part one: Nine principles of speaking.

In the book, the author lists nine principles of speaking, namely:

Rule 1: Think twice before you speak. Before we speak, especially on important occasions, we can't let emotions affect our expression.

Principle 2: Speak on different occasions. Before you speak, consider whether this sentence is suitable for the present situation.

Principle 3: Communication should be a curve rather than a straight line. You must learn to communicate tactfully, not directly.

Principle 4: Make what you say easy to understand. To do this, we must ensure that what we say is concise and accurate, speak Mandarin, don't care about other people's slips of the tongue, and don't be sarcastic behind others' backs.

Principle 5: Have an inner dialogue with each other. Always pay attention to the change of the other person's expression and adjust your words and deeds in time according to the change of the other person's expression.

Principle 6: Speak differently for different people. First of all, we should learn to distinguish different conversation objects, and then choose appropriate conversation methods according to different conversation objects.

Principle 7: After doing something wrong, you might as well review yourself first. It's not terrible to do something wrong, just admit it in time and sincerely.

Principle 8: Don't vouch for others easily. Doing what you say is one of the most basic principles in getting along with people.

Principle 9: Don't speak proudly to depressed people. Learn to assess the situation and not say anything inappropriate.

Taboo 2: Poke others where it hurts. Never mention hurtful topics in front of acquaintances or strangers.

Taboo 3: Get along with leaders and say inappropriate things. So, what words are not suitable to say? In the book, the author gives nine quotations.

First, say "whatever" or "whatever" when answering leadership questions.

Second, say to the leader, "I have known this for a long time."

Third, say "you have worked hard" to the leader.

Fourth, say "too late" to the leader.

5. Say to the leader, "What you did really touched me".

6. Don't be too cautious.

I have been in Australia for so many years, and I have also summed up some topics that I can talk to foreigners. But it may not be all right, it will vary from person to person.

We can talk with foreigners about other people's hobbies, local news, chatting and so on.

Taboo 5: There is no limit to joking. You must be measured when joking, and don't joke about each other's privacy or shortcomings.

In fact, there are many ways to improve our communicative eloquence, but if we just pursue more methods blindly, it will have no practical effect on our communicative eloquence. Only by operating the methods you already know well can you really learn communication skills and really improve your communication eloquence.

Learning communication is a basic skill for us. We should not only learn how to express ourselves, but also learn to use the art of language to establish contact with more people. As Dante said, "As a tool, language is as important to us as a fine horse is to a knight. The best steed suits the best knight, and the best language suits the best thought. "
