What is the area of Shaanxi Province?

Shaanxi province has a total area of 205,600 square kilometers. Shaanxi Province is high in the north and low in the south, with the longest length of 878.0 kilometers from north to south and the widest width of 5 17.3 kilometers from east to west. Its northernmost point is north of Liujiapo in Fugu County, and its southernmost point is Shanshuping on the southern edge of zhenping county, with a linear distance of 878.0 kilometers from north to south. The easternmost point is the middle line of the Yellow River main channel east of duan jia zhai, Huangfu Township, Fugu County, and the westernmost point is the west side of Fenlinba, Qingmuchuan Town, ningqiang county, with a linear distance of 5 17.3km from east to west.

Shaanxi province spans three climatic zones, and the climate between north and south is quite different. Qinling Mountain is the dividing line between north and south of China, with subtropical climate in southern Shaanxi, warm temperate climate in Guanzhong and northern Shaanxi, and moderate temperate climate along the Great Wall of northern Shaanxi.

The general climate characteristics of Shaanxi province are: warm and dry in spring, less precipitation, rapid and unstable temperature rise, windy and dusty weather; Summer is hot and rainy, with occasional summer drought; Autumn is cool and humid, and the temperature drops rapidly; Winter is cold and dry, with low temperature and scarce rain and snow.

The annual average temperature in the province is 9- 16 degrees Celsius, decreasing from south to north and from east to west. The annual average temperature is 7- 12℃ on the loess plateau in northern Shaanxi, 12- 14℃ in Guanzhong plain and 14- 16℃ in Qinba mountain area in southern Shaanxi.
