Introduction to the English-Strait of Dover

The Strait of Dover (English: Strait of Dover, French: Pas-de-Calais) is the narrowest part of the British Channel, also translated as the Pas de Calais. The shortest distance is from South Foreland to Cap Gris-Nez. South Forland is located 6 kilometers northeast of Dover, and Cap Grinet is located on a promontory in Calais. These two points are the most popular route for cross-channel swimmers, with a total length of 33 kilometers. The Strait of Dover is in the eastern part of the British Channel, at the point of contact between the British Channel and the North Sea. The Strait of Dover is the shortest between Britain and France. On a clear day, you can see the coastline and coastal buildings on the other side with the naked eye.
