What season is hail?

Hail usually falls in summer or at the turn of spring and summer, and may also fall in autumn.

Hail is a weather phenomenon. When the temperature is high in summer, the ground will produce hot and humid air, which will make the water vapor precool and condense into water droplets. Then, under the action of clouds in the sky, it grew bigger and bigger, forming hail and finally falling to the ground. The diameter of most hail in the middle hail is 0.5 ~ 2.0 cm, the cumulative hail time is 10 ~ 30 minutes, and the hail thickness is 2 ~ 5 cm. Heavy Hail: The diameter of most hail is more than 2.0 cm, the cumulative hail time is more than 30 minutes, and the hail thickness is more than 5 cm.

Causes of hail formation:

1. Atmospheric environment: The main condition for hail formation is atmospheric environment. In summer, the atmospheric temperature is higher and the water vapor content in the air is higher, which makes the water vapor in the cloud more likely to condense into ice.

2. Updraft: The formation of hail requires updraft. In summer, due to the influence of solar radiation, the ground temperature is high, which causes the air on the ground to move upward. This updraft will lift the water droplets in the clouds to high altitude, make them cool and condense into hail.

3. Cold air: The formation of hail also needs the existence of cold air. When cold air meets updraft, it will freeze water droplets into hail. Strengthening the early warning and monitoring of hail can take preventive measures in advance to reduce the losses caused by hail.
