Guilin Twelve Beach Rafting

The Twelve Beach Rafting Scenic Area is located in the northeast of Wantian Township, Lingui County, Guilin City, on the golden tourist route from Guilin to Longsheng, and the rafting section is located in Guilin It is located in the upper reaches of Yijiang River in Lingui County, and is connected with National Highway 321 from beginning to end. The rafting end point is only 50 kilometers away from Guilin City and about 30 kilometers north to Longsheng. The transportation is very convenient. The total length of the Twelve Beach Rafting is 9 kilometers, passing through 66 river beaches and 12 rapids. The highest drop in the rapids is 3 meters, and the total drop is more than 80 meters. Twelve beaches have nine twists and turns. The rapids hit the rocks and splashed layers of water. The rubber boats bumped, jumped, undulated and swayed in the crests and valleys of the waves, allowing the rafters to relax physically and mentally and express their individuality.

On both sides of the Ertan River Valley are towering cliffs and stacked terraces. From the foot of the mountain to the top of the mountain, there are green and dense virgin secondary forests. The average altitude in the scenic area is 300 to 500 meters. The climate has a large vertical difference, four distinct seasons, and abundant rainfall. The temperature in midsummer is 3 to 5 degrees Celsius lower than that of Guilin city. Both sides of the river are made of Cambrian dark gray shale, which is colorful. Boulders of different shapes are scattered on the left and right sides of the river bed, forming novel landforms such as scarps, platforms, and potholes. There are many small waterfalls hanging between the continuous cliffs on both sides of the canyon, which are very quiet and beautiful, making people feel like they are in a fairyland.

Twelve Beach Scenic Area is located in Lingui Water Resources Protection Area, and the natural forest remains intact. The vegetation is dominated by fir, moso bamboo, oak, bayberry, etc., with scattered rare plants such as silver fir, emerald cypress, and yew. It belongs to the evergreen broad-leaved forest belt. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, making it a good place for vacation and leisure.

Wantian is an ethnic minority autonomous township dominated by the Yao people. There are two Yao villages in the scenic area, Shangbeidi and Xiabeidi. The local Yao people still maintain their unique production, life and cultural customs. The "rail-style" wooden building is the main building of Yao Village. It is built on the mountain and has unique style.

The development of the scenic spot took several years and was officially opened to the public on April 26, 2004. The scenic spot currently focuses on rafting and will gradually be built into a comprehensive tourist destination integrating leisure and vacation.
