The price of fruit has been much higher recently than in previous years. What other factors besides climate?
Take fruit as an example. In previous years, the lowest price of fruit was the season when fruit came on the market. Based on the large number of fruits in the producing area, the supply exceeds the demand, which will lead to much lower fruit prices. However, as the fruit matures, the price of fruit will rise steadily. On holidays or under some special circumstances, the price of fruit may soar, for example, during the Spring Festival.
Take 20 19 apples as an example. Although the price increase is caused by the shortage of supply, the fundamental reason is that during the fruit-producing period of 20 18, the main apple-producing areas in China encountered extreme weather (hail), and the green fruits on fruit trees were knocked out by hail. According to the statistics at that time, compared with previous years, the output of apples decreased by more than 30%, while the apples in Beijing once reached 65,438.
Moreover, apples are one of the fruits that are often needed in life, and the demand for life is still quite large. But in some specific seasons, people's demand for fruits will increase a lot, such as Spring Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Tomb-Sweeping Day and so on, which will also lead to a steady increase in the price of fruits. In addition, apples have a certain shelf life. After this shelf life, the fruit will go moldy and go bad, so there is no way to sell it. When middlemen store fruits in fresh-keeping warehouses, if the overstock reaches a certain period and they are in a hurry to stock up, the price of fruits will also fluctuate.
Take the northeast as an example, the winter in the northeast is extremely cold, which is not conducive to fruit preservation. The cost of fruit transportation may be lower in summer, but in winter, the risk of loss will increase exponentially. In order to ensure profits, middlemen can only raise prices to maintain profits and increase costs. This is the increment brought by the supply chain. In addition, driven by policies and subsidies, it may also lead to changes in fruit prices. In some producing areas, a large number of subsidies are given to support fruit farmers to grow a certain kind of fruit, which may not have any effect in recent years. However, when the fruit begins to bear fruit after several years of growth, it will lead to an increase in the supply of fruit, oversupply and a decrease in the price.
However, the price of fruit should also follow certain laws and cannot be analyzed from a certain dimension. This needs to be formulated by comprehensive production areas and cross-regional needs. Many times, the change of fruit price has a great relationship with the change of middlemen and seasons.
