Characteristics of Dali ancient city

Dali ancient city is located in the northwest of Yunnan province, and the southern end of Hengduan Mountain is located on the shore of Erhai Lake under Cangshan Mountain. This ancient city covers an area of 3 square kilometers. The ancient city of Dali is located in the windward area of the southwest monsoon belt of the Bay of Bengal, belonging to the subtropical plateau monsoon climate type, with moderate temperature change and mild climate, and large temperature difference between day and night during the year.

Dali ancient city has more sunshine in winter and spring, more sunny days, more sunshine hours in summer and autumn, more rainy days and less sunshine hours. Dali ancient city is located in Erhai fault basin, and most of its surface is covered by alluvium.
