My home is in Gongga County essay

I have known about my country’s Qinghai-Tibet Plateau since I was a child, and always thought it was something beyond my reach. Who would have thought that after turning fifty, I would be able to set foot on the famous “Roof of the World” and set foot in the magical snow? Yu Plateau is lucky.

August 10th

We had already booked the flight tickets and took off at 8:05 in the morning. On the day of departure, we got up very early and rushed before 7 o'clock. Arrive at the airport.

Go through the security check, check your ticket, and board the plane. The stewardess reminded us to put away our luggage and fasten our seat belts, and the in-cabin announcement gave us life-saving explanations. After completing all pre-takeoff procedures, the plane slowly drove out from the apron and entered the runway a few minutes later. After about two minutes, the plane suddenly accelerated, the roar was deafening, and the buildings outside the window moved rapidly backwards. The chair shook violently. After driving at high speed for a few seconds, the plane suddenly took off. The seat no longer vibrated, but the powerful roar continued, and it felt like the plane was trying to climb upwards. After a few minutes, the roar gradually subsided and the plane entered a stable flight state.

After flying for about two hours, the plane stopped at Chongqing Airport. We all got off the plane and walked around in the waiting room. An hour later, the plane took off again and continued flying to Lhasa. About an hour into the flight, I looked out the window and saw patches of white clouds passing under the wings of the plane. Below the white clouds, the mountains were vaguely visible. Through the white clouds, I could still see the snow on the mountains. I have flown several times, and it would have been impossible for the plane to fly so low unless it was taking off or landing, so I concluded that the plane was already over the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

Soon, the plane landed slowly at Lhasa Airport.

Lhasa Airport is located in Gonggar County, Tibet, also called Gonggar Airport. It is located on the south bank of the Brahmaputra River and is more than an hour away from Lhasa. We were picked up by a brand new bus. The bus was driving on the road from the airport to Lhasa. Looking out the window, I saw a flat and curved asphalt road, with a wide river on one side. The tour guide said that this river is the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra River. On one side is a bare stone mountain. The weathered stone mountain has dangerous peaks and jagged rocks, like a thousand-year-old fortress that has been eroded by wind and rain. Looking far into the distance, you can see the unharvested highland barley in the distance. The sun shines through the car window, and the people in the car are getting hot from the sun. It feels like the sunshine here is particularly strong. No wonder people say that this is the place closest to the sun.

More than an hour later, a group of buildings came into my sight, and a plateau city appeared in front of me. Ah, this is the holy land that I have long admired and dreamed of - Lhasa!

August 11

The next day, we started our trip to Tibet. The tour guide said that we are going to Nyingchi today, which is a long way, more than 500 kilometers away from Lhasa and located in the southeast of Lhasa.

The bus drove along the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, mostly climbing mountains along the way. When we arrived at Mira Pass, the car stopped for a while and we all got out of the car. Mira Pass is more than 5,000 meters above sea level and is the highest point on the Sichuan-Tibet Highway. When I first arrived in Lhasa, I felt a slight altitude sickness. At this time, I felt the reaction intensified and I felt a little light when walking. When we were at the bottom of the mountain, the weather was still very sunny, but when we reached the mountain pass, the weather turned cloudy. Standing on the side of the road, the wind felt very strong. I didn't know whether it was clouds or fog. I felt a kind of wet and cold particles drifting past me. I tried my best to look far into the distance, and through the clouds and mist, I could vaguely see the white snow on the mountains in the distance. At this time, I suddenly remembered a poem: "Mountain, the horse is riding fast and has not yet dismounted the saddle. Looking back in shock, it is three feet three feet away from the sky."

From Mira Pass to Linzhi, there is still a distance of more than 300 kilometers. After crossing the Mila Pass, there are steep russet hillsides. Perhaps it is because the snow has melted and there is no time for grass to grow. Perhaps the temperature here is too low and grass cannot grow at all. The car went down the slope and reached a gentler area. It can be seen that there are sparse grass growing on the hillside. Going further, a piece of green comes into view. It is a large grassland, but there is not a single small tree in sight.

The car drove for about an hour, and some shrubs gradually became visible on the grass. These shrubs are very short and sparse, as if they are artificial embellishments on the green grass. They are very beautiful. As the car progressed, the bushes on both sides gradually increased. There were many tall and dense bushes growing not only on the grass but also on the mountainside, but there were still no tall trees in sight.

Two or three hours later, the car entered the Niyang River section and went downstream along the river. The Niyang River is a tributary of the Brahmaputra River. For some reason, the river water is blue and clear, I think, maybe because it comes from the melted water from the snow-capped mountains. In order for us to enjoy the scenery here, we went to a small pavilion on the roadside and the tour guide asked the driver to stop the car. We all got out of the car and looked around. We saw steep mountains on both sides, narrow rivers, rushing rivers, and intertwined rocks. There was a huge boulder in the middle of the river with the four characters "mainstay" written on it. The boulder blocked the flow of water, forcing the river to flow from both sides of the boulder. Squeezing through, rapids formed. We all took photos one after another. Looking up at the mist-shrouded mountains on both sides, and looking down at the clear blue Niyang River with dancing waves, I couldn't help but admire: What a magical and beautiful landscape! Immersed in the beautiful mountains and rivers, people completely forget the hustle and bustle of the city...

When the car reaches the lower reaches of the Niyang River, another scene comes into view: a flat and wide river, gentle Slowly flowing river water, white clouds fluttering under the blue sky, green mountains, and occasionally newly built Tibetan villages can be seen, with yellow or green roofs shadowed among the green trees.

From a distance, it looks like a landscape painting with ink still wet, or like entering an ethereal fairyland, which is both amazing and thought-provoking. When you are here, you will feel the harmony between heaven and earth, the integration of mountains and water, the harmony between man and nature, and all impetuous mentality and many conflicts of interest will be left behind.
