Why does the Meteorological Observatory depress the temperature?

"Low" people listen to the weather forecast every day, especially pay more attention to the predicted maximum temperature every day. Especially in hot summer, people often hear all kinds of complaints about temperature forecast. They blamed the low temperature forecast of meteorological stations, which affected the arrangement of heatstroke prevention and cooling and the temporary adjustment of work and rest system. In fact, they don't know the difference between sensory temperature, indoor temperature, outdoor temperature and standard temperature, so it will inevitably lead to various "misunderstandings".

What is the standard temperature? There is a scientific and unified regulation for the temperature measured by the meteorological station, that is, the temperature above the ground 1.5 meters is the standard, and the thermometer must also be placed in the louver box of the open-air observation field. The temperature thus measured is the standard temperature. Because the temperature at this height is basically free from the influence of the drastic change of ground temperature, this is also the general range of human activities. The function of the louver box is to prevent the solar radiation from returning to the ground, to protect the instrument from strong winds, rain and snow, and to properly ventilate the sensing part of the instrument, so as to truly perceive the change of the outside air temperature.

In the living room, office, workshop and other places, it is very different. The structure of the house is different, and the ventilation and solar radiation are also very different. Moreover, the stove in the kitchen, the machines and people in the workshop will emit a lot of heat energy. According to research, the heat emitted by one person is equivalent to a 100 watt light bulb, and a dozen people are equivalent to an electric furnace. It can be seen that even if a thermometer is placed indoors, it can only measure the "microclimate" in a specific environment, not the standard temperature. Therefore, the weather station (station) cannot be blamed for the low temperature forecast.
