Judging from this response, the process of turning willow into rose should be stopped. As far as the attention of the West Lake is concerned, especially when thousands of Hangzhou people are sensitive to the changes of the West Lake every day, the management should no longer have the illusion of pretending. Replanting willows honestly, doing technical maintenance, pest control and so on. Add to the scenery of the West Lake, not subtract, otherwise it is easy to live up to the expectations of fans of the West Lake.

As for the reason for cutting down the willow trees in the West Lake, the management gave an expert a seemingly sufficient reason: the willow trees along the lake in Beishan Street (from the east side of the broken bridge to the intersection of Baochu) have been aging, sunken, "hunched" and seriously inclined for a long time because they grow under the crown of Platanus acerifolia, and some willows have potential safety hazards. It is also called "on the basis of consulting experts on plants and heritage" to show that the procedure is correct.

What is even more intriguing is that the management provided data that the range and number of trees cut down this time were "about 100 meters, and there were 7 declining willows along the lake", and also provided pictures to prove that the so-called "migrated" willows were weak. The implication is that the willow trees replaced by the West Lake have little influence on the scenic spot, which seems to imply that there is an uproar in public opinion and a little fuss. These explanations seem to completely ignore the focus of the storm and fail to keep up with people's concerns.
