Halo weather sign
1, halo is due to the existence of cirrostratus rich in ice crystals, and cirrostratus usually appears on the front of cyclone. Hundreds of kilometers behind the ground front corresponding to the cyclone is the cloud and rain area. With the progress of the ground front, the clouds are getting lower and lower, the wind is gradually increasing, and precipitation occurs. Therefore, the appearance of solar (lunar) halo indicates the coming of stormy weather.
2. Of course, this does not mean that the appearance of solar halo must be a sign of rain. The appearance of lunar halo must be windy, and it needs to be combined with other weather conditions. If only the edge of the cyclone passes by, there may not be rain, but the clouds may thicken, the wind will increase and the wind direction will change. There is also a cirrostratus at the outer edge of tropical cyclone, which will also form halo. Therefore, in the typhoon season, seeing cirrus clouds in the low latitude sky and being dizzy may be a sign that a typhoon is coming.
