Lijiang belongs to the low latitude warm temperate plateau mountain monsoon climate. Due to the great difference in altitude, the climate is distributed from the south subtropical zone to the alpine zone, with little change in four seasons, distinct wet and dry seasons, obvious vertical difference in climate, small annual temperature difference and large temperature difference between day and night, which has the characteristics of maritime climate and continental climate. The annual average temperature in the city is between 12.6 ~ 19.9℃, and the frost-free period is 19 1 ~ 3 10 days. The annual average rainfall is 9 10 ~ 1040mm, and the rainy season is concentrated in June to September. The annual sunshine hours are 232 1 ~ 2554 hours.

Lijiang is located in the northwest of Yunnan province, at the junction of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet provinces. It is an important passage of the ancient "Southern Silk Road" and the "Tea-Horse Ancient Road". It spans between 25 23'-27 56' north latitude and 99 23'-101'east longitude.
