1. Be careful to save paint

Paint is flammable, and it can easily cause fire if not stored properly when the temperature is high in summer. Therefore, summer paint should be stored in a cool and ventilated place, and the storage container must be well sealed. Also be careful to keep away from open flames and electrical sockets to avoid sparks igniting the paint. It is recommended that the purchased paint be used within one month.

2. Extend the drying time of wall putty. Before painting the wall, you need to scrape the putty first. Generally, you need to scrape 1-3 times. The normal drying time is 1-2 days. During summer decoration, try to extend the time for the putty to dry as much as possible, generally 2-3 days is appropriate. Because the weather is hot and humid in summer, especially when heavy rain comes, the putty will take longer to dry. In addition, when hanging putty, the water vapor on the wall should be wiped clean with a dry cloth to keep the wall as dry as possible, which is conducive to wall painting.

3. How to deal with difficult-to-dry walls

In summer, it is very easy to give the illusion that "the wall has dried completely." During construction, construction workers must ensure that the base layer of the wall is completely dry before applying wall paint. If conditions permit, professional instruments should be used to measure the moisture content of the wall, and construction will begin only after reaching the standard.

4. Avoid rainy days when painting walls

When painting walls in summer, avoid high humidity or rainy weather. Because during construction, the foundation of the wall surface was relatively moist, and the paint was applied before it was completely dry. The moisture penetrated into the paint surface and caused the paint film to lose its adhesion, causing the wall surface to bulge into a drum shape.

5. Avoid exposure of finished walls to the sun

In summer, the temperature is high and the sun is strong. If the painted wall is often exposed to sunlight, the color of the wall will easily fall off and the white wall will turn yellow. In addition, exposure to the sun will cause the wall to heat up. When the wall temperature drops after painting, cracks will appear on the paint surface.
