Physical cooling method and matters needing attention

Physical cooling is a method to speed up heat dissipation by using the temperature difference between human body temperature and outside temperature when you have a fever. Because of its simple operation and good effect, it is often chosen by people. Common methods and precautions are as follows.

Hot compress and wet compress

Soak the towel in water at about 35℃, take it out, and change the chest and abdomen every 10~ 15 minutes. However, it should be noted that if the child does not adapt, shivering, pale face, cold limbs, etc., he should stop immediately.

Cold saline enema

Awake children with persistent high fever or body temperature of about 40℃ can be enema with 300~500 ml isotonic saline at 4℃, which is more suitable for high fever caused by bacillary dysentery, and has both cooling and therapeutic effects.

Fever suppository

Antipyretic suppository with anal suppository can also be used together, but it should not be used too often. Generally, it is used three or four times at most in 24 hours.
