Where is the best place to develop ginkgo tree planting in China?
(1) Northeast Low Temperature Affected Zone
From the north of Hebei Province to Liaoning Province, it belongs to the offshore area, with small daily variation of temperature, abundant precipitation, generally above 600 mm, and high air relative humidity. All these are beneficial to the growth and fruiting of Ginkgo biloba. The main limiting factor for the growth and fruiting of Ginkgo biloba in this area is low temperature, especially after the continuous high temperature in early spring, severe late frost often brings irreparable losses to Ginkgo biloba production.
Generally speaking, this area is not suitable for large-scale development of ginkgo biloba. However, Ginkgo biloba can also be used as an ornamental garden cultivation tree species in a specific small ring. It can also be used for street tree cultivation under microclimate conditions where late frost is not serious.
(B) Northwest arid temperature change restricted area
From northern North China and southern Inner Mongolia to Shanxi and northwestern Shaanxi, including parts of Gansu, Qinghai and Xinjiang, the precipitation is generally less than 400 mm, the climate is dry, and the temperature is getting worse day by day, which belongs to continental climate. Ginkgo biloba generally cannot grow and bear fruit normally.
From the natural conditions, this area is generally not suitable for the development of ginkgo biloba. However, in some specific small ring areas, especially the southern slope of the mountain surrounded by mountains, hillside slopes and local areas that can block the cold wind and water, Ginkgo biloba can also be planted to decorate the scenery.
(3) North China Dried Fruit Production Area
South of Beijing, all the way to northern Jiangsu and northern Anhui, including most of Hebei and Shanxi, parts of Shaanxi and Gansu, and parts of Henan and Shandong, the annual average temperature is 14- 15℃, the precipitation is more than 600 mm, the soil is loose, and the rainwater is concentrated in July and August, which is beneficial to the production of high-quality ginkgo biloba and can develop a batch of dried ginkgo biloba.
North China's dried fruit producing areas have a vast land area, and there is generally a wide soil surface along the highway, so there is a lot of room for plant roots to stretch. Ginkgo biloba is also suitable to be planted as a street tree on both sides of the expressway.
A considerable part of the dried fruit producing areas in North China need to build farmland shelterbelts. Considering the slow growth of Ginkgo biloba in the early stage, it can be properly configured as the arbor layer of the second generation shelter forest in the design.
Ginkgo biloba planted in this area has a large accumulation of dry matter in the body and a high content of effective medicinal components such as total flavonoids in the leaves, which is also suitable for building a production base of Ginkgo biloba in Yelin.
(D) the central distribution area of the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River
From the east of Sichuan, including Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and even Jiangsu, Anhui and other provinces and regions, it is the preservation place of ginkgo living fossils. The annual average temperature in this area is 15- 18℃, and the annual precipitation is 1000 mm or more. Mountain areas with fertile soil are generally neutral or slightly acidic, which is suitable for producing high-quality dried fruits. Because the soil and climate are particularly suitable for the growth of ginkgo biloba, it generally grows rapidly and can create a fast-growing timber forest. Therefore, both the dry fruit production base and the wood production base of Ginkgo biloba can be built here.
The main limiting factors of Ginkgo biloba development in this area are dense population and poor land resources. Due to the developed economy in this area, there are many kinds of cash crops suitable for development, so it is generally difficult to arrange land for the development of ginkgo biloba. However, vigorously promoting surrounding tree planting, even combining high-yield Chinese fir forest with ginkgo intercropping, can become an important form of developing ginkgo dried fruit forest and timber forest in this area.
Ginkgo biloba is planted here, which grows vigorously and has relatively high leaves. After screening, varieties and individual plants with high effective medicinal components were selected, which were especially suitable for building a production base of ginkgo biloba forest for leaves.
(5) South China Dried Fruit Production Area
Including most mountainous areas in Guangxi, Guangdong and Fujian, as well as some mountainous areas in southwestern Jiangxi and Hunan, the annual average temperature is about 18℃, the annual precipitation is 1000- 1500mm, and the summer temperature is high for a long time. This continuous high temperature weather has a certain inhibitory effect on the growth of Ginkgo biloba, which is easy to form a crown, and with the acceleration of development, it can generally blossom and bear fruit at 15 years old. The low mountains and hills in this area, as well as the well-drained valley platform, can establish the production base of ginkgo dried fruit.
Because of the high temperature in this area, ginkgo seeds develop rapidly, generally reaching maturity in late August, and because some production areas are close to the port, products are easy to export, which is suitable for building various famous and excellent export product bases and ginkgo production bases for dried fruits.
(6) Southwest high-quality fruit producing areas
Including Yunnan, Guizhou, some mountainous areas in Sichuan and southeastern Tibet. The latitude here is south, but because of the high altitude, influenced by the Indian Ocean airflow, it presents an obvious dry and wet season climate, with mild and sunny winter and rainy and cool summer. Ginkgo biloba can be developed except in dry-hot valleys and areas above alpine grasslands. The rainy and cool climate in this area in summer is quite beneficial to the expansion and richness of ginkgo seeds. Therefore, as long as it doesn't rain continuously when ginkgo blossoms in spring, it is possible to build a new high-quality ginkgo production base in the foothills with good drainage.
The economy in this area is underdeveloped, and it is one of the ethnic minority areas in China. Because of the high output value of Ginkgo biloba, it is suggested that the local government can list the development of Ginkgo biloba and Ginkgo biloba series products as an important project to help the poor through science and technology and develop the mountain economy.
(VII) Lingnan High Temperature Affected Zone
This refers to the vast mountainous areas south of Nanling in China, including Guangdong, Guangxi, part of Taiwan Province Province and Hainan Island. The annual average temperature in this area is over 65438 09℃, and the high temperature lasts for a long time, which has become the main limiting factor for the growth and fruiting of Ginkgo biloba. The rainfall in this area is extremely rich, and the annual precipitation generally exceeds 1500mm. Excessive precipitation will cause local water accumulation and affect the normal growth of ginkgo biloba. The strongly acidic latosol developed under high temperature and rainy conditions is not only strong in acidity, but also sticky in texture and generally poor in drainage. This will seriously affect the normal growth of ginkgo root system, and the ginkgo growing here is generally poor.
However, Ginkgo biloba is known as a living fossil, and its leaves, branches and whole tree have high ornamental value. Generally speaking, ginkgo trees can still grow in this area, so they can still be used as landscape trees for landscaping.
Finally, it is worth pointing out that Ginkgo biloba is widely distributed and has different geographical and ecological types. Especially after thousands of years of artificial cultivation, a variety of varieties have actually been formed. Different ecotypes can adapt to different ecological conditions; Each variety has specific requirements for environmental conditions. These factors must also be considered when developing ginkgo biloba.
