It was merged from Zhicheng District and Lidu District of Fuling City, Sichuan Province, and 1997 was merged into Chongqing. Located in the east of the main city of Chongqing, at the intersection of Wujiang River and Yangtze River, it is known as the "southeast gate of Chongqing". Known as the "hometown of mustard tuber".
The total area is 294 1.46 square kilometers. It is an urban-rural economic corridor connecting 20 districts and counties in southeast Chongqing. Fuling port and container terminal are both in the forefront of Chongqing in terms of function and capacity, realizing river-sea combined transport and direct overseas access. Fuling is one of the main flooded areas of the Three Gorges Project.
It belongs to the subtropical humid monsoon climate, with four distinct seasons, abundant heat, abundant precipitation, insufficient light, prominent monsoon influence, frequent disastrous weather and synchronous light, heat and water resources. The terrain rises from northwest to southeast, the temperature drops, the precipitation increases, and the three-dimensional climate is obvious.
