The best time to catch mandarin fish

Mandarin fish are easier to catch in April-August.

Before fishing mandarin fish, the first thing you need to know is the weather, and choose the most suitable time to fish according to the weather. Among many factors of weather, temperature is a very important one.

Fishing at the right temperature will make Siniperca chuatsi more active and the fishing harvest will be better. Specifically, the optimum temperature for fishing mandarin fish is between 18-28℃. When the temperature is between the optimal temperatures, mandarin fish will be more comfortable, they will be more active in water, and food will be more attractive to them.

Living habits

Siniperca chuatsi is a complete freshwater fish, which likes to inhabit clean water bodies with lush aquatic plants such as rivers, lakes and reservoirs. It usually lurks under the water during the day and moves around for food at night. I don't like long-distance wandering and migration, and I don't like living in groups.

Suitable water temperature for living 15 ~ 32℃. However, some scholars have shown that the specific growth rate of Siniperca chuatsi increases with the increase of temperature in the range of 10 ~ 25℃, but the change is not obvious between 25 ~ 35℃, and the growth of Siniperca chuatsi does not slow down obviously when the water temperature reaches 35℃.

This is inconsistent with the general research results of the relationship between fish and water temperature, that is, in a certain temperature range, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish increase with the increase of water temperature, but when the water temperature exceeds the optimal water temperature, the feeding rate and growth rate of fish will decrease, which indicates that the optimal growth temperature of mandarin fish may be wider.
