Jianggan District is the bridgehead of Hangzhou's eastward expansion, the axis of Hangzhou's urban development strategy and the transportation hub of Hangzhou. It is the new political, economic and cultural center of Hangzhou and the location of Qianjiang New City. It also owns Xiasha Higher Education Park, the largest higher education park in Zhejiang Province.
