Cold wave influence of cold wave weather

Cold wave is a large-scale weather process, which will cause a wide range of severe cooling, strong winds and snowfall along the way. Disasters caused by cold wave, such as gale, frost, snowstorm, etc., have great influence on agriculture, transportation, electricity, navigation and people's health.

Cold wave gale is windy weather caused by cold wave weather. Cold wave and strong wind involve a wide range. Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, northwestern Shaanxi, northwestern Shanxi, Hebei, northern Henan, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning in the north of China are all areas with frequent cold waves and strong winds. Cold waves and strong winds may also occur from the south of Huaihe River to the middle of South China Sea. Cold waves and strong winds are mainly northerly winds, and the wind force is generally 5 ~ 6. When the cold air is strong or the ground low pressure develops strongly, the wind force can reach 7 ~ 8, and the instantaneous wind force will be even greater.

China's cold wave and strong wind are widely distributed, which can spread to the whole country. The annual gale frequency (days) has regional characteristics. The average number of windy days in most areas is about 20-70 days, the northwest, north China, northeast China and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau are between 10-75 days, and the southwest, south China and Yangtze River basins are 3-25 days. There are three areas with high frequency of windy days in China: the first is the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, which is the largest windy weather-prone area in China, with the annual number of windy days reaching 75 ~ 100 and above, which often causes windy disasters on the snowy plateau and affects animal husbandry production. Second, northern Inner Mongolia and northwestern Xinjiang are the only way for the cold wave to invade. Especially in the northern part of Inner Mongolia, the terrain is flat, the cold wave and strong wind are unimpeded, and the number of strong wind days is as high as 50 ~ 80 days, which leads to serious sandstorms and wind erosion and desertification in this area, which has a great impact on agricultural and animal husbandry production. The third high-frequency windy area is Songliao Plain in Northeast China, and the number of windy days is about 25 ~ 50 days. This area is an area where the development of northeast cyclones is strengthened. There are Daxing 'anling and Inner Mongolia Plateau in the west and Xiaoxing 'anling and Changbai Mountain in the east. The narrow tube effect of large terrain enhances the wind force. There are frequent cold waves and strong winds in this area in spring, which often causes spring drought and affects spring sowing production. There are obvious seasonal differences in the distribution of cold wave and gale days in China. In most areas, there are more windy days in spring than in winter and autumn, and the number of windy days in summer is the least.
