Why are there many thunderstorms in summer?

Thundershower is due to the hot summer weather, and strong air convection occurs in some places, which leads to a large number of hot and humid air rising violently and forming cumulonimbus clouds. Thunderstorms often occur in summer because the strong thermal convection that produces cumulonimbus clouds is easy to occur only in summer.

We know that there must be clouds when it rains. Clouds are formed when water vapor in warm and humid air near the ground rises and condenses when it meets cold. After the water droplets or ice crystals in the cloud gradually become larger, the air can't support it, and what falls is rain. It can be seen that rain must meet two conditions: first, there must be moist warm air; Second, the air should have a strong upward movement. In summer, our country often blows southeast wind from the sea, which makes the sea wet.

Our air is continuously sent to land. At the same time, in summer, the sun shines directly on the ground, which is hotter than any other season, and the air near the ground is also the hottest, so it is easy to produce strong upward movement. So it rains a lot in summer.

There are four kinds of rain in summer:

1. When cold air from the north collides with warm air from the south, the rain falls on a large cloud and rain area.

2. The warm and humid air near the ground rises sharply, forming thunderstorms under thunderstorm clouds.

3. Typhoon storm.

4. The warm and humid airflow is blocked by the hillside, and when it rises along the hillside, it condenses into topographic precipitation under the cloud.

Among them, the confrontation between cold and warm air is the largest and the most frequent, accounting for almost 60% of the annual rainfall.

Although the weather is very hot in summer and there is warm air from the south, the cold air from the north has not completely retreated in winter, and it is easy to form a confrontation with heavy rain. At the same time, the summer weather is hot, and the air is often top-heavy, unstable and easy to rise along the hillside, creating conditions for topographic precipitation. In addition, typhoons and lightning are also specialties in summer, which are rare in other seasons. So there is naturally more rain in summer than in other seasons.
