If you change planes in Lanzhou, don't waste the waiting time.

Lanzhou, as the base of Spring Airlines, is often considered as an ideal transit point from the east to the northwest (especially Xinjiang), but there are still many places worth playing around Lanzhou.

The Yellow River Shilin National Geopark is one of them.

Location and Navigation The Yellow River Stone Forest is located in Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, only one and a half hours' drive from Lanzhou Zhongchuan Airport, about two hours from downtown Lanzhou, and 1 hour from Jingtai County. Just navigate the Yellow River Shilin National Geopark.

Arrival mode

Self-driving is recommended. Renting a car at Zhongchuan Airport is very convenient, and the off-season price is also very cheap. You can rent a reliable SUV at a daily rent of 100. You can also choose to join a tour group, which is not recommended because there are few bus trips.

If you can leave before noon, you can consider including Yongtai Ancient City in Jingtai as a one-day tour.

If I arrive in the afternoon, I recommend a person to go to the Yellow River Stone Forest for half a day.

The traffic inside the scenic spot can be described as madness. If we can't find another way (mentioned below), I would like to call it the most inconvenient scenic spot in the whole northwest. Need a bus-transfer to a battery car-walk 1km through the village-transfer to a sheepskin raft-take a battery car to the mouth of the canyon-transfer to a battery car to the depths of the canyon-walk to the observation deck.

The important thing is to find another way.

Parking in the south gate parking lot will randomly meet npc: uncle local tyrant. I'll drive you in for 60 yuan each. The uncle I met is quite reliable. The process of taking a local bus is also simplified from official bus-battery car-walking-sheepskin raft-battery car-sightseeing bus to private car-walking 1 km to the mouth of the canyon-sightseeing bus, and you have to buy a sightseeing ticket for 30 yuan.

Undoubtedly, the core place is Yinmagou Grand Canyon. When the weather is good, it's easy to shoot the feeling of a large area in the western United States without losing the Ya Dan on the Qinghai-Tibet Link. Take the sightseeing bus at the mouth of the canyon and get off at the first stop. Go ahead and turn a corner, which is the best place to punch. Another place is the observation deck at the end of the canyon. I need to walk or take a donkey cart. I didn't get on the drone because I had it.

The best starting point is the observation deck of the ticket office, about 100 meters ahead.

About the donkey cart: You can take the donkey cart to the observation deck at the end of Yinmagou Grand Canyon, but the donkey cart can't go to the canyon (at the end of September 2023). Those pictures of donkey carts taken in the canyon may have become a swan song.

The facilities in the scenic spot are relatively perfect, and there are many farmhouses along the way from the entrance of the scenic spot to the entrance of the canyon to provide accommodation. You can also buy supplies at the end of the canyon, and the price is still relatively close to the people.

There are public toilets in the canyon for your convenience. If you need to stay in a regular hotel, Jingtai Shilin Hotel is the only choice for the scenic spot (bid 100+/ double 200+/ set of 400+).
