What is winter like?

Winter is a vast expanse of whiteness. The roofs, fields and streets are covered with a thick layer of snow. Some people in the street are constantly sweeping snow. People also wear heavy cotton-padded jackets and walk at a brisk pace. Every household has a fire. Adults are eagerly looking forward to the arrival of spring, while children are having a good time.

In the middle of winter, the sun's spirit retreats to the yin, life closes, and everything begins to harvest. "Autumn harvest and winter storage", everything is harvested in winter, and winter is the season to enjoy a bumper harvest and recuperate.

In many areas, winter means silence and desolation. When the cold current strikes, living things will reduce their life activities, many plants will shed leaves, animals will choose to hibernate, and some are called hibernation. Migratory birds will fly to warmer places for the winter.

Climatic characteristics:

"beginning of winter" refers to wind and rain, humidity, light, temperature, etc. At the turning point, the climate is gradually changing from autumn to winter. In winter, the direct point of the sun moves south to the tropic of Capricorn, and then turns back to the north.

In early winter, the sun reaches the longitude of 225 degrees, and the earth is at declination-16 19'. The height of the sun in the northern hemisphere becomes smaller, the daylight time becomes shorter, and the amount of solar radiation obtained in the northern hemisphere becomes less and less. However, there is still some energy in the heat stored on the surface in the second half of this year, so it is not very cold.

During the period of Meng Dong (winter solstice and light snow), when there is no wind, there is often sunny, warm and comfortable "Xiaoyangchun" weather, and there is a folk saying of "Xiaoyangchun in October". It is generally not very cold in early winter (Meng Dong) in some parts of the south, but with the passage of time, cold air frequently goes south and the temperature gradually drops.

The northern region is very cold from winter to spring, and the climate change of several solar terms in winter is not obvious. Snow is the main feature of northern winter.
