The geographical location of Shaanxi
Shaanxi Province, referred to as "Shaanxi" or "Qin" for short, is a provincial administrative region of People's Republic of China (PRC), with an as its capital, located in the hinterland of China, the middle reaches of the Yellow River, bordering Shaanxi and Henan in the east, Ningxia and Gansu in the west, Sichuan, Chongqing and Hubei in the south, Inner Mongolia in the north, and the east longitude 105 29' to 65438.
Shaanxi Province is high in the north and low in the south, and consists of plateaus, mountains, plains and basins, of which the Loess Plateau accounts for 40% of the total land area of the province, spanning two major water systems of the Yellow River and the Yangtze River and three major climatic zones. Along the Great Wall in northern Shaanxi, it belongs to the mid-temperate monsoon climate, Guanzhong and northern Shaanxi belong to the warm temperate monsoon climate, and southern Shaanxi belongs to the north subtropical monsoon climate.
Climatic characteristics of Shaanxi province
Shaanxi province spans three climatic zones, and the climate between north and south is quite different. Southern Shaanxi has a tropical climate in North Asia, Guanzhong and northern Shaanxi have a warm temperate climate, and northern Shaanxi has a temperate climate along the Great Wall. The general characteristics of the climate are: warm and dry in spring, less precipitation, rapid and unstable temperature rise, windy and dusty weather; Summer is hot and rainy, with occasional summer drought; Autumn is cool and humid, and the temperature drops rapidly; Winter is cold and dry, with low temperature and scarce rain and snow.
The annual average temperature in the whole province is 9- 16℃, decreasing from south to north and from east to west. The annual average temperature in northern Shaanxi is 7- 12℃, Guanzhong 12- 14℃, and southern Shaanxi 14- 16℃. The annual average precipitation is 340-1240mm. There is more precipitation in the south and less precipitation in the north. Southern Shaanxi is a humid area, Guanzhong is a semi-humid area and northern Shaanxi is a semi-arid area.
