Huaining County is located in the southwest of Anhui Province, on the north bank of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, downstream of Anhui Province, bordering Yixiu District of Anqing City in the east, dongzhi county in the southeast, Taihu County in the west, Qianshan City in the northwest, Wangjiang County in the south and Tongcheng City across the river in the north, with a total area of 1276 square kilometers.
