" Qu Yuan replied, "I heard that people who have just washed their hair must shake off the dust on their crowns, and people who have just taken a bath must shake off the dust on their clothes. Who can bear the pollution of dirty things with a clean body? " I would rather throw myself into the flowing water and be buried in the belly of a fish. How can I endure worldly dirt with innocent and pure conduct? "So I wrote Huai Sha's last poem and threw a stone at Miluo to let it die.
Qu Yuan died on the fifth day of May.
Like Qu Yuan, Wu Zixu's death was a "fixed-death" punishment.
