On June 27th, the poem "Drunken Book" in Wang Hu Building was as simple as possible.

It depicts the beautiful rainy scene of the West Lake.

The author is Su Shi, a writer and calligrapher in Song Dynasty.

Full text:

Clouds poured out and poured down like ink, but a mountain range was exposed on the horizon, bright and fresh, and the splashing water was like white pearl gravel, splashing on the boat.

Suddenly, the wind rolled up and dispersed the clouds in the sky. The lake was blue as a mirror, beautiful and gentle.

Translation:

Dark clouds roll, like overturned inkstones, winding the distant mountains. After a while, some pearls suddenly appeared on my boat, which were oppressive raindrops.

A gust of wind blew and dispersed the rainstorm. When I fled to Wang Hu Building, drinking and chatting, what I saw was blue sky and clear water.

Creative background:

Song Shenzong Xining five years (1072), the author served as a judge in Hangzhou. On June 27 this year, he visited the West Lake, saw the wonderful lakes and mountains on the boat, and then went to Wanghulou to drink and wrote this seven-character quatrain.

This poem depicts the beautiful rainy scene of Wang Hu Mansion. The witty poet used his poems to capture this unique "improvisation" of Xizi Lake and described it as a "West Lake Shower Map". Dark clouds suddenly gathered, heavy rain suddenly fell, and it was sunny after the rain, and water and sky were the same. It is a mountain, a water and a boat, which highlights the characteristics of boating in the West Lake.

Secondly, the author uses "dark clouds turn into ink" and "white rain jumping beads" to form a strong color contrast, which gives people a strong texture. Thirdly, use "Zhuan Mo" to describe the arrival of clouds, use "Jumping Beads" to describe the splash of raindrops, and use verbs to move forward, so that the metaphor is flexible and vivid without revealing traces.

The phrase "the wind blows away suddenly, and the water in the lake is like the sky" describes the rapid change of the weather from showers to sunny days, which makes people feel refreshed, and the eyes are suddenly enlightened and the realm is wide open.
