Do Jiangsu and Subei belong to Jiangnan?

Geographically, northern Jiangsu belongs to Jiangbei rather than Jiangnan.

But culturally, parts of Nantong in northern Jiangsu belong to Jiangnan cultural circle.

The situation in northern Jiangsu is very complicated (it is the most complicated because it is in the cultural conflict zone between North and South):

Xuzhou, Lianyungang, Suqian and parts of Yancheng (Xiangshui, Binhai, Funing, Yancheng, Jianhu, Du Yan, Sheyang and north of Longgang River in Dafeng) belong to the northern cultural circle.

Parts of Yangzhou, Huai 'an, Taizhou, Nantong (Rugao, Hai 'an and Rudong) and Yancheng (Dafeng and Dongtai) belong to the Jianghuai cultural circle. In addition, parts of Nanjing and Zhenjiang in the south of the Yangtze River (some towns in Jurong and Danyang) also belong to the Jianghuai cultural circle.

Tongzhou, Nantong, Haimen, Qidong and Rudong in Nantong, northern Jiangsu, and some coastal towns in Sheyang, Yancheng (Daxing and Linhai are mainly immigrants from Changzhou in ancient Jiangnan) all belong to Jiangnan cultural circle.
