Danhai Expressway is an important part of Dandong-Xilinhot Expressway in the national expressway network planning, connecting cities and counties in central and southern Liaoning to southeastern Liaoning, and shortening the driving time from Dandong to Xiuyan County, Haicheng, Yingkou and Panjin.
