Anqing is the holy land of Zen in China. In the early years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, Buddhism was introduced into China. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, Zen became the mainstream of Buddhism in China. Influenced by Buddhism, Hui Ke, the second ancestor of Zen in China, went south alone to become a Buddhist, and the third ancestor participated in Zen and completed the theoretical system of Zen. Up to now, there are still many Buddhist sites in Anqing, such as Zu Er Zen Hall, Sanzu Temple and Yingjiang Temple.
