This abandoned building complex is called the site of Cold Lake Oil Base. This used to be a bustling town called Lenghu Oil Town. It is located in Lenghu Town, Haixi Prefecture, Qinghai Province, more than 900 kilometers away from Xining, the provincial capital, more than 400 kilometers away from Delingha, the state capital at the junction of Qinghai, Xinjiang and Gansu, and more than 340 kilometers away from Liuyuan, the nearest railway station. Today's cold lake oil town has become a ruin, without a complete house, all the roofs have collapsed. It is said that beams, doors, doorframes, furniture and other timber have been taken away, leaving only a pile of loess and sand. There is a stone tablet at the entrance, which reads "Cold Lake Oil Base Site".

Driving along the main road, there are neat and shabby houses on both sides, and occasionally you can see the specific slogans of that era. Walking into the house, there is nothing but bricks. You can climb the wall and see the Qilian Mountains in the distance. The top of the mountain was covered with a layer of snow, and a gust of wind blew and raised a burst of sand.

Overlooking from the air, the roads are straight and the houses are neat and spacious, and you can vaguely imagine their original prosperity. Now people go to the building and become ruins, submerged in history as if forgotten, which makes people sigh.
