The concept of big data

Big data, or huge amount of data, refers to the information that involves so much data that it cannot be captured, managed, processed and sorted in a reasonable time to help enterprises make more active business decisions.

Big data requires special technology to effectively process a large amount of data within the allowed time. Technologies suitable for big data include MPP database, data mining, distributed file system, distributed database, cloud computing platform, Internet and extensible storage system.
