Does Guangzhou grow African huanghuali?
Huang Huali in Africa grows in the rainforests of West Africa and East Africa, and in the tropical areas of Central and West Africa (Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Sierra Leone, Benin, Nigeria, etc.).
Climatic characteristics of Guangzhou:
Guangzhou is located at low latitude, close to the South China Sea, and has obvious maritime climate characteristics, belonging to the south subtropical monsoon climate zone. The surface receives a lot of solar radiation, and at the same time, influenced by monsoon, the ocean warm air flow forms a climate of high temperature, high humidity and rainy in summer; In winter, the cold wind in the northern mainland forms a climate of low temperature, dryness and little rain. The annual average temperature is about 22℃, the historical extreme maximum temperature in the city is 39.3℃, and the historical extreme minimum temperature is -2.6℃. The annual average rainfall is more than 1800 mm, of which the rainfall in flood season from April to September accounts for about 80% of the whole year, and the annual precipitation days are about 150 days. The wind direction is seasonal, with southeast wind and north wind in spring. In summer, the southeast wind prevails; Autumn changes from summer monsoon to winter monsoon, and the prevailing wind direction is northerly wind; In winter, northerly winds predominate, followed by southeast winds. At the same time, natural disasters are frequent in Guangzhou, and disastrous weather such as typhoon, rainstorm, cold wave, thunder and lightning, smog and so on often bring adverse effects to Guangzhou's industrial and agricultural production, transportation and citizens' life.
According to the climate characteristics of Guangzhou and the growing environment of Huang Huali (tropical area) in Africa, it can be seen that Huang Huali in Africa is not suitable for growing in Guangzhou.
Remarks:
The wood grain of African rosewood is similar to that of Burmese rosewood, but there is no obvious tiger skin pattern and it is not clear enough. The brown hole is obvious and rough. The color is yellow, and there are gray wood grains in the yellow (but African pears on the market are generally colored and need bright natural light to see clearly). On the whole, there is a kind of black, which seems to have gray, dirty and unclean colors, and it feels bad. There is an obvious smell, especially the enclosed cabinet furniture, which smells particularly bad after opening. This is easy to distinguish. African pears have low density and are relatively light.
Features: corrosion resistance, hard and fragrant wood, almost no cracking and deformation after drying. Compared with Southeast Asian rosewood, African rosewood is often called "quasi-mahogany" because of its different origins, but almost the same wood.
African Huang Huali is an ideal material for senior joinery, furniture and cabinets because of its good mechanical properties, strong durability and good dimensional stability.
