Jingzhou City governs Jingzhou, Shashi, Gongan, Jianli and Jiangling counties, and Songzi, Shishou and Honghu counties. The so-called Jingzhou urban area refers to the place within the ancient wall of Jingzhou, which includes not only Jingzhou urban area, but also some towns and villages outside Jingzhou urban area, such as Jinan Town, which belongs to Jingzhou District outside Jingzhou urban area.
